Privacy

Last updated 26 October 2026.

This site is run by me, Tom. This page explains what the site collects and why. I don't sell your data, and I don't use it for anything beyond what is listed here.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It starts as soon as a page loads. A banner lets you press Deny to switch it off. Denying stops it, deletes its cookies and is remembered in your browser. You can change your choice at any time with the "Analytics choice" button in the footer.

Google Analytics sets cookies called _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier, and collects things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, your browser and device type, and your IP address (which Google says it does not store in full). I don't see who you are. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name analytics-choice. It never leaves your device.

Server logs

Like any website, the server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, the pages requested and the time. I use them to keep the site running and secure.

Videos

Where a post has a YouTube video, nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. It then loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, and YouTube's own policy applies from that point.

Tools

The tools on this site (the "safe to paste" scanner and the AI use card builder) run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to me or stored by this site.

Affiliate links

Some links, such as ones to products I use, are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I mark these where they appear. The company you click through to may set its own cookies, under its own policy.

Ads

There are currently no ads on this site. If I add them, I will ask for your consent before ad cookies are set, and update this page first.

Email

If you email me, I keep your message and address only to reply and for my own records.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, and object to how I use it. Email tom@dinghy.io and I'll respond. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
